Citizens for Los Angeles Wildlife: Wildlife Pilot Study Is Alive
The Wildlife pilot Study
As we previously reported, CLAW's signature advocacy project, The Wildlife Pilot Study, has been under threat of defunding in LA City's emergency budget. We are happy to report that we have been able to save the item and some staff positions for fiscal 2020/21. "It’s exciting that the study's draft ordinance is near the finish line and it can become regulatory rather quickly, providing much needed protections for the land, trees and wild ones." -- Tony Tucci, CLAW Chair
The EPA's Risk Assessment of Rodenticides
The shutdowns in LA have not slowed down our fight to ban rodenticide. CLAW recently submitted a comment asking the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency not to renew registration for harmful rodenticides. You can upload you own comments to the government portal here. We also continue to work with a coalition to ban these rodenticides in California. Stay tuned for updates!
Watchdogging State Legislation
CLAW is currently drafting letters in opposition to AB 3279 and AB 235, two bills that would gut our state's most important environmental laws: California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and California Endangered Species Act (CESA). Stay tuned for more info on how you can help add your voice!
